Philanthropy
The members of Delta Omicron Tau hold philanthropy very close to their hearts. Our chapter is pleased to continue our partnerships with various philanthropic organizations in the area, and we are proud to be making a difference in the lives of many.

Downtown Women's Center
Founded in 1978 and now reaching 4300 women per year, the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) is the only organization in Los Angeles dedicated to addressing the immediate and long-term needs of women overcoming poverty and homelessness on downtown’s Skid Row. With the help of volunteers like us, the DWC looks out for these women’s basic needs, health care, and education. In addition to looking to remedy the immediate issues they face, the DWC looks to facilitate the women’s reintegration with the work force using a program called MADE. MADE is a social enterprise created to break the cycles of unemployment and homelessness by empowering women to discover talents and develop skills through vocational opportunities like soap making and pottery. Instead of just providing shelter and food, DWC provides a stable home for these women. 95% of the women housed by the DWC do not return to homelessness. As an organization, Delta helps sort donations at the center, such as clothes and other supplies, so that they can be effectively used and distributed.

Los Angeles Food Bank
The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank feeds over 1 million people in LA County every year, from young children to senior citizens. In their 40 year history, over 1 billion pounds of donations have been distributed. Their primary mission is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community. As Deltas, our primary responsibility at the food bank is helping to sort the donations they receive so that they can be distributed.
